All successful internet marketers know that in order to get  customers to your website, you first need to attract targeted traffic.

There are many methods that can be used to attract targeted traffic.

Writing articles about the products you are marketing, and then publishing them on article directories such as eZine, is an extremely effective way to attract targeted traffic.

Unfortunately, many internet marketers have a difficult time writing articles.   So, short of hiring a ghost writer, what other effective strategies are available?

Well, if you have “people skills”, you might consider joining a social networking website to attract targeted traffic, such as Facebook.

More than 300 million active users are subscribed to Facebook, with more than 65 million of them accessing Facebook through their mobile devices.

Of these 65 million mobile device users, almost 50% of them are more active on Facebook, than non mobile users.

Needless to say, with this amount of traffic, there is no reason why you should not use Facebook to attract target traffic to your website.

Facebook is an internet marketer’s dream when used properly.

First, join Facebook and create your profile page.

This page contains your interests, age, gender, political leanings, and essentially everything else about you.

The first thing you need to do before you start hawking your products or services, is to get yourself established on Facebook.

If you already have some friends now using Facebook, you can try to add them to your network in the website. The idea is to build your own network of friends, so you can gain access to other networks in Facebook.

You can then start communicating with other people, and make new friends and relationships.

Once you become familiar with Facebook, you’ll find that you can join different groups.

This is where you can begin to attract targeted traffic to your website.

Find, and then join a group that shows some interest in the products or services you are marketing and enter into the discussion.

If you’re a good people person, you can slowly weave your product, service, or website into the discussion, and indirectly attract targeted traffic to your site.

Once you become a trusted member of the group, you can effectively market your products.

Facebook offers quite a few communicating tools such as the News Feed, RSS, the Notes feature, and you can get yourself better known by writing on the Wall of other people’s profiles.

The best reason to use Facebook to attract targeted traffic, is that it’s free.  Your time is your only investment!

When you consider the amount of active users on Facebook;  using Facebook to attract targeted traffic to your website is definitely a no brainer!
